FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL, CBCI
The Catholic Church in India has always been in the forefront of serving the nation, upholding values and caring for the poorest of the poor, the marginalized and the underprivileged people of our country. We have been doing this through our educational institutions, Health Care activities and works of mercy and compassion through social service.
Through its 54,000 plus educational institutions, catering presently to over 6 crore students, the Catholic Church is involved in Nation Building and preparing honest, upright and worthy citizens of our beloved country.
Following the words of Jesus, “Let, the children come to me, do not stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to them” the Catholic Church takes the mission of education with utmost seriousness. The “All India Catholic Education Policy 2007” was drawn up very carefully after much study, reflection and discussion so that every institution would carry forward the aims and objectives of integral development of the Child.
A systematic effort of evaluation and analysis of the effectiveness of the Catholic Education Policy 2007 was undertaken over the last few months.
We want to now commemorate and celebrate through a National Quiz, “CBCI Education MasterMinds”. The quiz competition will continue to remind and nudge us all forward towards a progressive awareness that Catholic Education is a commitment and a mission of dedication to educate the young according to the Gospel values, teaching moral uprightness, social justice, cultural values and true patriotism going far beyond just academic excellence. Even as we have reached the landmark of ten years of the “All India Catholic Education Policy 2007”, we are also launching the revision and updating of the Catholic Education Policy as well. I want to wish to congratulate the CBCI Office for Education and Franciscan Solutions for this new venture “CBCI Education MasterMinds” National Quiz and wish them all success.
God Bless You.
